Ohio Association of Community Health Centers Health Center Control Network to Enhance Patient Communication through Preferred Partnership with CareMessage

Columbus, Ohio — April 7, 2022

The Ohio Association of Community Health Centers (OACHC) Health Center Control Network (HCCN), and CareMessage, the leading patient activation and communication platform for safety-net healthcare organizations, announced today that CareMessage has been selected as the preferred partner for OACHC HCCN members to use to meet goals of enhancing patient communication and improving operational and clinical practices.

The CareMessage platform will enable the participating Community Health Centers within the OACHC HCCN to improve patient engagement among the nearly 350,000 patients collectively served. The direct connection between the CareMessage mission- leveraging technology to help safety-net organizations to fulfill the essential needs of underserved populations- and the OACHC HCCN is imperative to help health centers work together to use health information technology to improve operational and clinical practices.

“We are proud to have been selected to partner with the OACHC HCCN to help enhance patient communication for the many underserved patients served by Ohio’s Community Health Centers,” said Vineet Singal, the CEO and co-founder of CareMessage. “We see tremendous opportunity to work together to improve health outcomes, especially for patients that face barriers to care, such as being unhoused, uninsured, or otherwise marginalized.”

In the U.S., safety-net providers like the members of the OACHC HCCN serve 27.5 million uninsured individuals and 72.4 million individuals on Medicaid. The use of technology like the CareMessage platform can help safety net organizations be more efficient with their time and increase the quality of care and health outcomes for their patients.

“OACHC HCCN is excited to offer participating health centers the opportunity to leverage CareMessage and Azara Patient Outreach to increase patient engagement and close gaps in care resulting in improved patient care experiences and health outcomes while reducing the costs of care,” said Randy Runyon, President and CEO of OACHC.
